How to use the Date Difference Calculator

  1. Choose the start date and the end date.
  2. Tick “include end date” if both days should count.
  3. Read the difference in years, months and days and the totals in weeks, days, hours and minutes.

The difference is shown both as a calendar breakdown (years, months, days) and as totals. Totals count whole days between the dates; including the end date adds one day, which is useful for leave and event durations. The weekday breakdown shows how many of the days are weekdays and weekend days.

Frequently asked questions

Why can “1 month” mean a different number of days?
Months have 28 to 31 days. The calendar breakdown counts whole months first, so the remaining days depend on the months involved.
