How to use the HTTP Status Checker
- Enter one or more addresses, one per line.
- Click Check status.
- Review each status code, the redirect chain and the response headers.
Our server requests each address as a crawler would, following up to five redirects, and reports every hop. 2xx codes mean success, 3xx redirects, 4xx client errors such as 404 Not Found, and 5xx server errors. Only public addresses on ports 80 and 443 can be checked.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my browser show the page but the checker reports 403?
Some sites block automated requests or requests from data-centre IP addresses. The status shown is what our server received.
Are the results cached?
No. Each check makes a fresh request.
