Shipping Label Enhancer

Adjust the brightness and contrast of a faint label, or convert it to grayscale or pure black and white.

Runs in your browser. Your input is processed on your device and is not uploaded to our server.

Drop a label image or PDFJPG, PNG, WebP or PDF, up to 25 MB. Processed on your device.

This tool only changes tones. It cannot repair a damaged barcode, and we cannot guarantee a barcode will scan, so test-print before shipping.

How to use the Shipping Label Enhancer

  1. Drop a label image or PDF.
  2. Adjust the brightness and contrast, or choose grayscale or black and white with a threshold.
  3. Compare it with the original, then download it and test-print.

A faint scan or a photo of a label can often be made easier to read by raising the contrast. Thermal printers print only black or white, so a clean black and white version can also print more predictably than a grey one.

The tool only adjusts tones. It does not repair damaged labels, redraw barcodes or change any text, and a threshold set too far can erase thin lines. We cannot guarantee that a barcode will scan after any image change, so print a test label and scan it before you ship. Your carrier’s rules always take priority.

Your label is processed in your browser and is not uploaded to our server. PDF output is image-based: each page is rendered to pixels, so its text can no longer be selected.

Frequently asked questions

Will this make an unreadable barcode scan?
It might help with low contrast, but it cannot restore detail that is missing, and it can make things worse. Always test the result with a scanner. If it fails, get a new label from your carrier.
What threshold should I use?
Start at 128 and watch thin barcode bars and small text. Lower it if thin lines disappear, and raise it if the background turns black.
Is the text changed?
No. Only brightness and contrast are changed. The tool does not read or edit the content.
