How to use the Sitemap Validator

  1. Enter the sitemap address (or just the site, to use /sitemap.xml).
  2. Click Validate.
  3. Fix the reported issues and re-check.

The validator checks well-formed XML, the sitemaps.org namespace, absolute URLs on the same host, W3C date formats, duplicates and the 50,000-URL limit, then spot-checks a few listed URLs. Gzipped sitemaps are supported.

No. List only final, canonical URLs that return 200.
