How to use the Unix Timestamp Converter
- Paste a timestamp, or pick a date and time.
- The unit (seconds, milliseconds, microseconds) is detected automatically.
- Read the date in UTC, your local time and ISO 8601 format.
A Unix timestamp counts seconds since 1 January 1970 00:00:00 UTC, ignoring leap seconds. JavaScript and many APIs use milliseconds instead. The converter guesses the unit from the number of digits and shows UTC, local time, ISO 8601 and RFC 2822 formats, plus the relative time.
Frequently asked questions
