Returns are assumptions, not predictions. Market-linked investments carry risk.

How to use the SIP Calculator

  1. Enter the monthly investment, the expected annual return and the number of years.
  2. Optionally add a yearly step-up percentage.
  3. Compare the amount invested with the estimated returns and final value.

How SIP returns are estimated

Each monthly instalment grows at the monthly rate r = annual return ÷ 12 ÷ 100 until the end of the period, assuming investments at the start of each month: FV = P × ((1 + r)n − 1) ÷ r × (1 + r). With a step-up, the instalment increases once a year and each year is compounded separately.

Market-linked returns are not fixed. Mutual fund investments are subject to market risks; past returns do not guarantee future results. Use realistic assumptions.

Frequently asked questions

What return should I assume?
Use a conservative figure based on the asset class and your time horizon. The calculator does not predict returns.
Are taxes and expense ratios included?
No. Fund expenses are already reflected in a fund’s returns, but capital gains tax is not deducted here.
